Louisa Henrietta was a princess, being the daughter of Prince William of Orange, and also granddaughter on her mother's side of Admiral Coligny who was killed in the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre. She married the Elector of Brandenburg, and gave birth to the first king of Prussia. She was a devout member of the Reformed church and was also an accomplished hymn writer.
